OFF RADAR [#2]: Sundara Karma – Ulfilas’ Alphabeth (2019)

OFF RADAR is a new blog feature with the sole purpose of highlighting all the albums that could have easily made INDIEVOTION's Album of the Week or Album of The Month but did not since due to unpredictable circumstances these albums weren’t given a proper, attentive listening by the time of their release though they all sound unquestionably good. This week we have Sundara Karma exquisite full-length “Ulfilas’ Alphabeth” which easily stands out as one of the best, thrilling albums of this year so far.

From opening to closing song there emerges a stunning blend of sounds emerging mostly from the 70s grandiose explosion of vibrant music genres. We could say that “Ulfilas’ Alphabeth” is shamelessly Bowie-esque, saturated in Bowie-isms and Bowie-incarnations but it’s also a lecture about how to mix different musical influences and epochs combining them all coherent and consistently which resulted in a superb, aesthetically cohesive, refreshing musical trip with a handful of brilliant stand out hit songs.

INDIEVOTION SCORE: 8.75/10
